REVIEW BY PHIL SAMPSON

On Wednesday the 11th of November we went to Globe Vale Campsite ready for the End of Season Rally. On arrival we found Malcolm and Sue from The Southern Section in their motor home and had been on site since Monday, then Keith arrived in his with GS on trailer behind.

On Thursday, Keith and I went out for a ride to the Upper Tamar Lake's so Keith could take a picture for the photo challenge, we then went to The Pie Stop Cafe at Launceston for lunch before heading back to the site. Another five had arrived that afternoon. On Friday morning, six of us set off for a ride via Portreath - Hayle - St. Ives - Pendeen and St. Just on the coast road to Land's End, we then went to The Land's End  Airport Cafe for lunch stop then on to Porthleven before heading back to site on a different route. Some of the other attendees had arrived and we had a steady trickle for the rest of the afternoon.
In the evening, several of us went into the restaurant for a meal and a few drinks, some even joined in with the charity bingo, but it was not long before it was time to part company and get some sleep ready for the next day's ride. In the morning, four people set off to go to Mevagissey and five of us went to the Lizard for a pasty, then over to Penzance and across country to pick up the coast road between Pendeen and St. Ives and went back to the site via Hayle and The Hells Mouth Cafe for a cup of tea. Returning to the site it was time to load the bike back on the trailer and later to the restaurant for a meal and a few more drinks before we held our raffle that Debbie had been selling tickets for throughout the evening.
On Sunday morning after going to the restaurant for breakfast most people headed for home. We hope everyone that came enjoyed themselves, we had four from the South East Section, two from the Southern Section, four from the Western Section, and the rest from the Southwest Section, making a total of thirty. Four in tents, some in motor homes and caravans and others hired static caravans on the site. The weather was cloudy and damp, no more than you would expect for November month, but thankfully mild.  I would like to thank everyone for coming and hope to see you all again next year, maybe back at Globe Vale or perhaps somewhere else, to be decided? Regards Phil.

Here at Cornwall Advanced Motorcyclist one of our main aims is to promote road safety. One of the ways we promote this is to offer a free taster session in the hope that it will entice motorcyclist to sign up for an Advanced rider course. Hopefully this will equip them with the skills to be safer on the roads.
