BMW PRESS RELEASE.
The new K 1600 B: emotion and fascination with 6 cylinders in the exclusive Bagger style. The “Concept 101” concept study, released in spring 2015, was an impressive new chapter for BMW Motorrad in the history of BMW Motorrad Concept Bikes. This BMW Motorrad interpretation of motorcycling on endless highways, the dream of freedom and the embodiment of “Grand American Touring” now becomes reality in form of a series version of the new K 1600 B bagger ............

Many of our members are now wearing these fantastic jackets. I personally know of four ex bikers that are paraplegic due to motorcycle crashes. The 19 year old son of one of my best freinds was killed after hitting a traffic sign and ruptured the Aorta Artery and my own Son spent 18 days in a coma in the critical care unit after his bike collided with a lamp post. What cost for saving your life or saving you from life changing injuries ?

I am not advocating it but it makes an interesting read...
BMW is recalling 367,000 motorcycles, because of a problem with their rear wheel carrier flanges.
The recall affects K and R models produced from November 2003 to April 2011.
According to BMW, the rear wheel brake disc bolts or wheel nuts may have received excessive torque during incorrectly-executed maintenance. Tightening the bolts too much could result in cracks to the wheel flange. BMW will replace the aluminum wheel flanges on affected motorcycles with a stronger steel component.
Affected owners should start recieving recall letters in the post shortly.

BMW, having earned its logo emblem from a stylized spinning airplane propeller, took off in another direction when in 1923 the German company debuted its first motorcycle, the R32, featuring the now famous “Boxer” air-cooled opposed-Twin engine: In this first iteration, it displaced 486cc and churned out 8.5 horsepower.....

Owners told not to ride bikes !
Taken from MCN.
BMW has issued an urgent instruction to all owners of 2014 BMW R1200RT owners fitted with the Dynamic ESA electronic suspension system to stop riding their motorcycles with immediate effect.
The problem concerns the rear suspension system and the potential failure of the plunger rod assembly inside. The instruction to stop riding motorcycles only relates to the 2014 model of the RT; the bike with the updated water-cooled boxer engine that was launched just a few months ago and only those models with the Dynamic ESA suspension option fitted.
A statement from BMW reads: "We regret to inform you that with immediate effect all 2014 R 1200 RT with Dynamic ESA must not be ridden. At this moment, we cannot guarantee that the plunger rod assembly for the rear suspension unit will not fail.
"Customers of affected machines will be contacted by their dealer immediately and asked not to ride their motorcycle. Whilst this is extremely disappointing for our customers their safety is BMW Motorrad's priority."
BMW dealers are currently contacting the 500-or so UK owners to explain the situation and work out how affected motorcycles will be fixed.
